The manager of the Mackinac Island Cougars said he always had confidence handing the ball to Melvin Johnson out of the bullpen.
The 27-year-old was a dominant performer all year for Mackinac Island and his efforts have been rewarded with the Sub League 2 Reliever of the Year Award for 2048.
The bullpen ace had an impressive 1.05 ERA this season, with 29 saves in 46 relief appearances. He fanned 72 batters in 51.1 innings and sported a record of 4 wins and no losses.
