Top SL2 Reliever Honored
Wednesday, September 2nd , 2048
At the age of 22, Bobby van Houten says he still has a lot to learn about life in GLBL Double A.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Escanaba Moonlight reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2048 Sub League 2 Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Kalamazoo, Michigan native said.
For the season, van Houten had 6 saves in 54 relief appearances, which totaled 78.2. He fanned 69 betters, while walking 17 and put up a record of 2-2 to go with his 2.29 ERA.
He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Warren Fa of the St. Catharines Saints finished second in voting, while Juan Lozano of the Manistique Night Train finished third.
