Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

Howard Cunningham of the St. Catharines Saints proved the point at TP Stadium, holding the Tinley Park Thoroughbreds to 5 hits in a complete game shutout victory.

"Cunningham made us look real bad today," Thoroughbreds manager said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Cunningham had 4 strikeouts and gave up no walks as the Saints took the 1-0 win.

In 20 starts this season, Cunningham has rung up a 8-7 record and a 2.16 ERA.
