Hamilton Loses, 5-4, in 10
|
The Hamilton Mounties and Thunder Bay Caribou provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Thunder Bay Caribou downed the Hamilton Mounties, 5-4, in 10 innings at Harbour Field. John Calder led the way, going 2-for-4 for Thunder Bay. The winner in relief was Larry O'Connell. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Greg Bow to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Caribou on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Calder.
The win gives Thunder Bay a record of 3-2.
