Caribou Rally Late to Nip Eagles
|
The Thunder Bay Caribou downed the Milwaukee Eagles, 4-3. The hitting star was right fielder Jamal Amador. Amador went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Caribou. Thunder Bay reliever Bill Hinxman picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Brenton Ricketts took the loss. With the win, the Caribou hiked their record to 32-24.
Had Robinson González not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, González hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Caribou.
"I was a little disappointed," said Milwaukee manager Mike Trigwell. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
