Bears Shut Out Neptunes, 7-0
|
Right-hander Ward Covey mesmerized the Toledo Neptunes while leading the Traverse City Bears to a 7-0 victory. The winning pitcher was Covey, now 3-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. With the win, Traverse City upped its record to 36-30.
The Bears picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Covey.
