Chicago got a terrific game from second baseman Kent Noseworthy. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Traverse City, 4-3. Noseworthy was 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win elevated the Bears to 53-43.
Traverse City used the timely hitting of Wes Winman to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bears on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Chicago skipper Alex Wobbema, "and it cost us."
