Carter Helps Eagles Beat Thunderbirds, 10-7
|
The Milwaukee Eagles downed the Detroit Thunderbirds, 10-7, the largest share of the credit belonging to left fielder Neil Carter. On the day, Carter went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for the Eagles. Reliever Gregg Powell picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Vincent Blanchet took the loss. The Eagles have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 12 games.
Milwaukee grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Carter hit a 3-run home run off Vincent Blanchet. His 2nd home run of the season put the Eagles out in front, 10-7.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Carter told a Milwaukee News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
