Amador Excels in 7-6 Thunder Bay Win
|
The Thunder Bay Caribou defeated the Traverse City Bears, 7-6. Right Fielder Jamal Amador deserved a large share of the credit. Amador went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Caribou. Jerry Powell picked up the save for Thunder Bay, his 2nd of the year. Thunder Bay goes to 12-4 with the win.
Thomas Gilles, who is rated as the 36th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Thunder Bay cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4 with a walk.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Thunder Bay manager Daniel Mays.
