Tinley Park Held Hitless by Calhoun
Sunday, July 19th , 2048
Bill Calhoun really did a number on the Tinley Park Thoroughbreds at Express Ballpark today -- and that number was zero.

The Manistique Night Train hurler had what he later called "one of the best moments of my life," tossing a no-hitter and leading the Night Train to victory, 1-0.

"This is something special," Calhoun said. "I knew from the fifth inning that I had a no-hitter working. I tried to get it out of my mind, but you just can't. They have too many scoreboards in the park. They're everywhere you look."

The right-hander faced only 29 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 14 and walked 2.

"We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," Tinley Park manager said when asked about the epic performance. "Calhoun was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number."

This season Calhoun has a 5-6 mark in 15 starts with a 2.66 ERA. He has given up 67 hits in 94.2 innings, struck out 136 and issued 36 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .199 batting average against him.
