5-for-9 Day for Brown
Tuesday, August 8th , 2051
It was a good day for the Thoroughbreds at TP Stadium as they clipped the Manistique Night Train, 6-4. It was tremendous day for Marvin Brown, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-9.
"I don't know what to call that," the Tinley Park second baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
Marvin Brown singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, flied out in the 11th, grounded out in the 13th, singled in the 16th, flied out in the 18th and hit a two-run home run off Freddy Legros in the 20th.
At present, Brown is batting .247 and has collected 10 home runs, 22 RBIs, .292 OBP and scored 20 runs.
