Guy Laurent of the Bay City Rollers spun his magic on the Mackinac Island Cougars. He blanked them, 9-0, on 4 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and 5 walks.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Laurent said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Bay City skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Guy pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
